Terms of Service

Last updated July 2026 · Beta version

These Terms govern your use of Zaza (zazasocial.app), a community-focused social platform currently in beta. By creating an account or using Zaza you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Beta status

Zaza is offered on an as-is, best-effort basis during beta. Features may change, break, be removed, or behave unexpectedly. Data may occasionally be reset while we harden the platform. We will give reasonable notice of destructive changes when we can, but we do not guarantee it during beta.

2. Service availability

Because Zaza is currently in beta, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of any feature or service.

Features may be modified, paused, disabled, redesigned, or removed at any time as we improve the platform. Temporary outages, bugs, and unexpected behavior may occur during development.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Choose a display name and username that do not impersonate another person, brand, or public figure.

We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms or the Community Guidelines, or that put other members at risk.

4. Reserved usernames

Zaza reserves the right to reclaim, remove, or modify usernames that:

  • Impersonate individuals
  • Impersonate businesses or brands
  • Mislead users
  • Violate trademarks
  • Create confusion regarding official Zaza accounts

5. Zaza brand and intellectual property

The Zaza name, logo, branding, visual identity, design elements, icons, and platform-specific features are owned by Zaza and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, modified, or used in a misleading manner without permission.

Users may not represent themselves as official Zaza staff, administrators, partners, or affiliates without authorization.

6. Your content

Zaza lets you share posts, Pages (journal entries), reflections, Sets activity, Knocks messages, Mic Up audio, mood music selections, images, and other user-generated content. You keep ownership of the content you create.

By posting to Zaza you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit, display, and process that content solely to operate and improve the service — for example, showing your posts to the audience you selected, generating thumbnails, or backing up your journal.

You are responsible for the content you post. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to share.

7. Sets, Knocks, and Mic Up

Sets are small communities. Set owners set the vibe and may remove members or posts that do not fit the Set. Set moderators may enforce additional community-specific rules. Private Set content is visible only to members while it exists on our systems.

Knocks are one-to-one conversations. Treat them as private between you and the recipient, but understand that the other person can screenshot, quote, or report messages.

Mic Up rooms are live audio spaces. Hosts moderate their rooms. We may record limited metadata (participants, join/leave times, campfire chat) to keep the feature reliable and safe; we do not record room audio by default, and any future recording feature will be opt-in and clearly labelled.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Zaza to harass, threaten, dox, or endanger others; to post illegal content or sexual content involving minors; to run scams, spam, or automated scraping; to break the service; or to attempt to access another person's account or data. Full expectations live in the Community Guidelines, which are part of these Terms.

9. Ban evasion

Users may not create additional accounts to evade suspensions, bans, feature restrictions, or moderation actions.

Attempts to bypass moderation may result in permanent removal from the platform.

10. Moderation and enforcement

We may review reports, remove content, limit features, suspend accounts, or ban users when we believe the Guidelines have been violated or safety is at risk. During beta, moderation is handled by a small team and may not be instant. Serious safety issues are prioritised over lower-severity reports.

If your account is actioned, you may appeal by contacting hello@zazasocial.app.

11. Analytics and product improvement

We collect limited product analytics (feature usage, error reports, aggregate engagement) to make Zaza more reliable and calming. Beta testers may see additional in-app prompts asking for feedback. Details live in the Privacy Policy.

12. Third-party services

Zaza uses third-party providers for hosting, authentication, push notifications, transactional email, music search previews, and AI-generated reflections. Their handling of data is described in our Privacy Policy. Content you fetch through these providers (for example, 30-second music previews) is governed by their own terms.

13. Premium and future features

Some features (for example, Cross Paths and Journey Reviews) may be gated to beta testers, admins, or future paid tiers. Beta testers may receive early access at no cost; this access can be changed or revoked as Zaza evolves. Any paid features will be introduced with clear pricing and cancellation controls.

Zaza may introduce additional features in the future, such as a Marketplace. When new features launch, additional terms or policies may apply and will be communicated in-app.

14. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. When you delete your account, we remove your profile and content from active systems within a reasonable period, subject to backup retention windows and legal obligations. We may terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

15. Disclaimers

Zaza is not a mental-health service. Reflections, coaching prompts, journey summaries, and other supportive features are provided for personal reflection and are not a substitute for professional care. If you are in crisis, please contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zaza and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the service.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Zaza grows. When we make material changes we will notify beta testers in-app or by email. Continued use of Zaza after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
